....Highland Dance
Highland dancing is one of the oldest forms of folklore dancing. The most common being the Highland Fling and the Sword Dance. The dances are made up in parts known as steps, and in each dance there are usually 4 or 6 steps. Along with the powerful and graceful footwork, the upper body uses its strength to control posture and integrates arm, hand and head movement. Highland dance is great for coordination and muscle development. Highland dancing is danced in soft shoes. Shorts are required or tight fitting leggings, and hair must be pulled off of the face.
